One of three CD-i games featuring the famous Nintendo character license. Ganon (called Gannon in the game), Lord of Darkness, has taken over the kingdom of Tolemac. But in breaking with his usual strategy, Ganon stayed away from Zelda this time around and nabbed Link, the defender of the kingdom. Instead of a static map that lets you select your destination like in the other two CD-i games, the game features a more traditional Overworld, complete with scrolling screens a la NES Zelda. The game uses several different weapons and treasures, such as the candle that lights up dark dungeons. In addition to the overworld, players also have to enter areas like this forest, and even dungeons. Also features FMV sequences and voiceover work.
